Corrections
How to tell us we are wrong, and what happens then.
Reporting an error
Email contact@ageayurveda.com with the page URL and what is wrong. Useful things to include, if you have them: the correct information, and where it comes from.
We are particularly interested in:
- Botanical misidentification. Classical names map onto species inconsistently and substitute species are widely used. If a binomial on a page is wrong for the name it sits under, we want to know.
- Misattributed classical references. If a page credits a text with something it does not contain, that is the most damaging kind of error here and the one we most want reported.
- Misreported research. If a study summary overstates or misstates what the paper found.
- Transliteration and vernacular names, including regional names we have missed.
What we do with it
Verified corrections are made to the page and noted in the log below with the date. Where a correction changes something substantive, the page's last-reviewed date is updated.
Where we cannot verify a correction either way, we would rather remove the disputed statement than keep an unverifiable one. Several fields on this site are blank for exactly that reason; see the known limitations on how we source.

8 October 2026: two editorial promises amended
Our editorial standards promised "No page exists because a product needed one", and about promised "There is no other commercial content on the site." Both were true when written and both are now partly untrue: this site has begun publishing pages that state what named manufacturers, ours and other companies', publish about a classical formulation, set against what the
Ayurvedic Formulary of India specifies.Rather than leave the promise standing and hope nobody checked, both passages were rewritten to describe what is now true, and the five rules those comparison pages follow were added to the standards: the conflict-of-interest disclosure comes first on the page, the comparison is organised by formulation and never brand against brand, every figure is the manufacturer's own published figure with the date it was read, there is no score or rank or winner, and the correction offer runs against our own interest. What did not change: no advertising, no sponsorship, no affiliate links, and no money from any manufacturer named anywhere on this site.
Amending a promise quietly would be worse than having made it, which is why this entry exists.
8 October 2026: dose figures put on a source, 50 formulation pages
Every formulation page states a dose. Those figures carried no source: of the 51 formulations where we hold the Ayurvedic Formulary of India's own dose, three of our figures matched it, and no page attributed its figure to anything in particular. The dose is the most consequential claim on these pages and it was the least sourced thing on the site.
What changed, by case:
- 25 pages now state the formulary's figure instead of ours, cited to part and entry number, with the schedule and vehicle unchanged. The largest change is Arogyavardhini Vati, where our 125-250 mg became the formulary's 250-500 mg; the others move by less. The figures they replaced:
- abhayarishta: 15-30 mL, now 12 to 24 ml
- ajamoda arka: 15-30 mL, now 12 to 24 ml
- arjunarishta: 15-30 mL, now 12 to 24 ml
- arogyavardhini vati: 125-250 mg, now 250 to 500 mg
- ashoka ghrita: 6-12 g, now 12 g
- ashokarishta: 15-30 mL, now 12 to 24 ml
- balarishta: 15-30 mL, now 12 to 24 ml
- brahma rasayana: 6-12 g, now 12 g
- caturjata churna: 1-3 g, now 2 to 4 g
- guggulutiktakam ghritam: 6-12 g, now 12 g
- hinguvachadi churna: 1-3 g, now 2 to 4 g
- hingvashtak churna: 1-3 g, now 1 to 2 g
- hingwashtak churna: 1-3 g, now 1 to 2 g
- kalyanaka ghrita: 6-12 g, now 12 g
- kalyanaka ghritam: 6-12 g, now 12 g
- kutajarishta: 15-30ml, now 12 to 24 ml
- madhusnuhi rasayana: 6-12g, now 12 g
- mustakarishta: 15-30ml, now 12 to 24 ml
- pippalyasava: 15-30ml, now 12 to 24 ml
- saraswatarishta: 15-30ml, now 12 to 24 ml
- sarivadyasava: 15-30ml, now 12 to 24 ml
- srikhandasava: 15-30ml, now 12 to 24 ml
- sudarshan churna: 3-6g, now 2 to 4 g
- talisadi churna: 1-3g, now 3 g
- trikatu churna: 1-3g, now 3 g
- 5 kashayam pages keep their figure. The formulary's number for a decoction is the weight of powder used to prepare it, not the volume taken, so the two are not comparable and are no longer presented as though they were.
- 8 pages keep their figure because the formulary states a different unit, a weight against a volume or a powder weight against a tablet count, and relating them needs a density or a tablet mass the formulary does not give.
- 5 pages had no figure and now state the formulary's.
- Mahasudarshan Churna no longer claims to be listed in the formulary, because it is not. The formulary carries Sudarsana Curna and no maha- entry, and the two are different formulations. Its composition table is now labelled as the formulary's nearest entry, shown for comparison, rather than as this drug's own.
Six attribution errors were corrected in the same pass: pages that credited a dose to a classical text the formulary contradicts. Hinguvachadi Churna was credited to the Sahasrayogam where the formulary gives Astangahrdaya, and
Guloochyadi Kashayam likewise where it gives Sarngadharasamhita. The underlying mistake was general: these lines attributed a *dose* to a classical text, when a classical text is the source of the *formula* and the formulary is what states doses.None of this was reported to us. It was found by checking our own dose attributions against the formulary, and it is logged here because a correction nobody reported still changed what the pages say.
10 October 2026: what the DOI resolves to, restated
Datasets carried a paragraph warning, against our own interest, that the concept DOI resolved to a single 7.5 MB archive of this project's repository rather than to the data files, that no dataset had a DOI of its own, and that depositing the files was a known gap not yet closed. That was accurate when written. It stopped being accurate on 10 October 2026, when v2.0.0 of the deposit replaced the archive with the 34 files themselves, each separately downloadable, and the paragraph now describes that instead. Two things did not change and the paragraph still says so. No dataset here has a DOI minted for it alone, because a file being separately downloadable is not the same as a file being separately identified, so the DOI continues to identify the work that contains these datasets rather than any one of them. And the direct downloads on the page remain the same bytes as the archived copies, checkable against the manifest's sha256 for each file.
Logged because the old paragraph was a disclosure of a weakness, and quietly deleting a disclosure once the weakness is fixed leaves no way to tell that it was ever disclosed. It was also nearly rewritten a day early, on the belief that the deposit had been published when the public record still showed one version holding one zip. scripts/zenodo-claim.mjs now reads the claim out of the page, compares it against the live deposit on every build, and fails the build when the two disagree, so the next time this page goes stale the build says so rather than a person remembering to look.
2 November 2026: more dose figures put on a source
These figures were replaced by the one the Ayurvedic Pharmacopoeia of India or the Ayurvedic Formulary of India states for the same drug part and preparation. Both works state a quantity per dose, not a schedule, so the schedule on each page is unchanged and remains unsourced.
