**Standard Dosage:** Internal: 5-15 drops (0.25-0.75 mL) with warm milk or water; External: sufficient quantity for Abhyanga (massage); Nasya: 2-6 drops per nostril; Basti: 60-100 mL as per protocol

**Bioavailability:** The 101-Avarti (101 repetitions of processing) concentrates bioactives and creates a nanoparticulate lipid system with markedly enhanced transdermal and transmucosal penetration. Each Avarti (cycle of adding milk, [Bala](/herb/bala/) decoction, and [sesame oil](/glossary/concepts-m-y/#tila-taila) with re-cooking) progressively reduces particle size and enhances oil-water interfacial properties. [Withanolides](/glossary/compounds-t-z/#withanolides) and [phytosterols](/glossary/compounds-o-q/#phytosterols) achieve 5-8 fold higher skin penetration compared to single-processed oil. Nasya administration provides rapid CNS delivery via olfactory pathway.

**Optimal Timing:** External Abhyanga: morning before bath; Nasya: morning on empty stomach; Internal: before meals with warm milk; Basti: as per Panchakarma schedule
