**Bioavailability:** Ferula assa-foetida resin contains volatile sulfur compounds (disulfides) and ferulic acid. Volatile components are rapidly absorbed via GI tract and partially through pulmonary route after oral administration. Ferulic acid shows ~30-40% oral bioavailability. Traditional practice of frying in ghee (Hingu Tadka) may improve palatability and modulate release. Low doses are key as higher doses can cause GI irritation.

**Optimal Timing:** With meals for digestive support; before meals dissolved in warm water for bloating

**Standardized Extract:** Essential oil standardized to minimum 40% sec-butyl propenyl disulfide; resin extract with ferulic acid content >2%

**Shelf Life:** 2 years (powder in airtight container); 3 years (enteric-coated tablet); 2 years (essential oil, sealed)
