# Avipattikar Herbs

> Avipattikar Herbs is a compound formulation of several ingredients. Bioavailability profile similar to standard Avipattikar, with Trikatu serving as built-in bioenhancer. Absence of sugar does not significantly affect bioavailability of active herbal constituents but changes the taste profile and may alter dissolution behavior.

## Names and identification

| Language | Name |
|----------|------|
| English | [Avipattikar](/herb/avipattikar/) Herbs |

## What is it made of?

### Key Active Markers

- Derived from constituent herbs (see individual herb profiles)
- Standardized on primary bioactive markers

**Analytical Methods:** HPLC fingerprinting, TLC (identity), LC-MS/MS (marker quantification)

## Dosage forms and preparation

**Dosage Forms:** Churna (sugar-free compound powder), Capsule, Tablet

**Standard Dosage:** 3-6g compound churna twice daily before meals with warm water; 1-2 capsules (500mg each) twice daily

**Bioavailability:** This refers to the herbal components of [Avipattikar](/herb/avipattikar/) WITHOUT the sugar (Mishri) component — a modern adaptation for diabetic patients and sugar-conscious consumers. Bioavailability profile similar to standard [Avipattikar](/herb/avipattikar/), with [Trikatu](/herb/trikatu/) serving as built-in bioenhancer. Absence of sugar does not significantly affect bioavailability of active herbal constituents but changes the taste profile and may alter dissolution behavior.

**Optimal Timing:** Before meals (30 minutes) with warm water for hyperacidity and digestive disorders

**Standardized Extract:** Compound herb blend (sugar-free) standardized to [piperine](/reference/piperine/) minimum 1.5% (higher than standard Avipattikar due to absence of sugar dilution), total [tannins](/reference/tannins/) minimum 7%, volatile oil minimum 0.4%.

**Shelf Life:** 2 years (churna); 3 years (capsules/tablets)

**Storage:** Airtight container, cool and dry. Without sugar hygroscopicity is reduced — better storage stability. Temperature below 25°C.

**Marker Compounds:** Piperine (from [Pippali](/herb/pippali/)/Maricha), Gallic acid (from [Triphala](/herb/triphala/)), [Embelin](/glossary/compounds-d-g/#embelin) (from [Vidanga](/herb/vidanga/)), [Eugenol](/glossary/compounds-d-g/#eugenol) (from [Lavanga](/herb/lavanga/)), 1,8-[Cineole](/glossary/compounds-c-d/#cineole) (from Ela), [Cuminaldehyde](/glossary/compounds-c-d/#cuminaldehyde) (from [Jeeraka](/herb/jeeraka/) if present)

### Extraction Methods

- Traditional fine powdering and mixing of all herbal components (minus sugar)
- Direct compression for tablets
- Capsule filling of blended herbal powder
- Aqueous or hydroalcoholic extraction of compound for concentrated forms

### Synergistic Combinations

- Internal synergies identical to Avipattikar compound
- Sugar-free version can be combined with [Shatavari](/herb/shatavari/) for diabetic patients with hyperacidity
- With [Guduchi](/herb/guduchi/) for metabolic support alongside digestive correction
