- CAUTION: Camphor is toxic if ingested - strictly for external use only. Harmful to adults, children, and pets if swallowed. Do not add to humidifiers or nebulizers as camphor is highly flammable. Camphor application can cause eczema in sensitive individuals.
- NOT safe for infants and toddlers - camphor toxicity risk is higher in young children. Do not use frequently on young children. Patch test mandatory for first-time users. Avoid application near eyes, nostrils (internal), and mucous membranes. Discontinue if skin irritation, rash, or eczema develops.

## Dosage forms and preparation

**Standard Dosage:** External application: sufficient quantity on affected area, 2-3 times daily, as per Sahasrayogam

**Bioavailability:** Topical application provides rapid transdermal absorption of camphor. Camphor activates TRPM8 and TRPV3 receptors producing alternating cool-warm sensation. Counter-irritant mechanism increases local blood flow. Eucalyptol (if included) provides additional anti-inflammatory action via COX-2 inhibition.

**Optimal Timing:** As needed for pain, headache, nasal congestion. Apply 2-3 times daily. Avoid near eyes and on broken skin.

**Shelf Life:** 3 years from date of manufacture as per ASU guidelines for Taila

**Storage:** Store in tightly sealed amber glass bottles. Camphor is highly volatile — loss occurs with loose sealing. Temperature not exceeding 25°C. Keep away from heat sources and flame (camphor is flammable).
