> Dashamularishta is a classical Ayurvedic fermented arishta or asava. Self-generated alcohol provides preservative and bioenhancing action. Post-fermentation metabolites show enhanced anti-inflammatory activity. Optimal Timing: After meals, twice daily. Classically used post-partum (Sutika Paricharya) starting from 7th day after delivery.

## Dosage forms and preparation

**Dosage Forms:** Arishta (fermented decoction), Capsules (modern), Syrup (modern)

**Standard Dosage:** 15-30 mL twice daily after meals with equal water, as per AFI Part I

**Bioavailability:** Fermented medium enhances extraction and bioavailability of [triterpenes](/glossary/compounds-t-z/#triterpenes), [alkaloids](/glossary/compounds-1-a/#alkaloids), and [glycosides](/glossary/compounds-g-l/#glycosides) from all ten roots. Self-generated alcohol provides preservative and bioenhancing action. Post-fermentation metabolites show enhanced anti-inflammatory activity.

**Optimal Timing:** After meals, twice daily. Classically used post-partum (Sutika Paricharya) starting from 7th day after delivery.

**Shelf Life:** 10 years from date of manufacture as per ASU guidelines for Arishta

**Storage:** Store in well-closed amber glass or HDPE containers in a cool, dry place. Temperature not exceeding 30°C. Protect from sunlight.
