# Vijaysar Wood Tumbler

> Vijaysar Wood Tumbler (Sanskrit: Vijaysar Patra / Beejaka Patra) is an instrument used in therapeutic vessels. A tumbler carved from the heartwood of Vijaysar (Pterocarpus marsupium / Indian Kino Tree / Beejaka). Water stored overnight in this tumbler takes on a reddish-brown color and active phytochemicals (pterostilbene, epicatechin, marsupsin) that leach from the wood.

Bhavaprakasha Nighantu (Vatadi Varga) describes [Vijaysar](/herb/vijaysar/)/Beejaka as Pramehaghna (anti-diabetic). Charaka Samhita lists [Asana](/herb/asana/)/Beejaka under Tikta Rasayana herbs. Sharangdhara Samhita references its use.

Blood sugar management (Prameha/Madhumeha), cholesterol reduction, anti-obesity, liver support, and metabolic syndrome. Water is consumed empty stomach for 30+ days.
